Penguin’s Celebra imprint has taken world rights to the first book by Jennifer Lopez. True Love will be released simultaneously in English and Spanish on October 28.
The memoir will focus on a two-year period in which, Jennifer faced “one of her life’s most defining periods.” During this time, she “confronted her greatest challenges, identified her biggest fears, and ultimately emerged a stronger person than she’s ever been.” The book will feature a collection of photographs of the star and aim to be more like a “diary.”
Lopez said writing the book was a “deeply cathartic, personal, and vulnerable experience.” She was ultimate swayed by the feeling that “if [the book] could touch even just one person then it would honestly become one of the most fulfilling endeavors of my life.”
A portion of the book’s proceeds will go to the Lopez Family Foundation, dedicated to supporting the health of women and children.
