In “The Bite in the Apple: A Memoir of My Life with Steve Jobs” Brennan writes that Jobs believed he was a reincarnated world war 2 fighter pilot.
The two met in 72 when they were both in high school. They dated and lived together for five years. Their relationship ended in ’77, when Brennan became pregnant with their daughter, Lisa. Jobs denied paternity, claiming he was infertile. A paternity test in 79 proved he was the father, and in later years, he and Lisa reconciled.
Brennan paints a picture of a driven man whose deep interest in spirituality was combined with a dismissive attitude to people. As Apple took off, so did Jobs’ ego.
